Auditions now open for “A Christmas Carol”

Quincy Community Theatre is excited to announce it will present A Christmas Carol this December at the theatre. Based on the book by Charles Dickens and adapted by playwright Christopher Schario, A Christmas Carol tells the story of the redemption of a human soul. This play with music follows the ever-powerful story of Scrooge, a lonely miser, who, through the help of spirits and visions from his past, present and future, finds a second chance to become a loving, generous human being.

“With our triumphant return to live theatre in the building, we wanted to do a show that celebrated human kindness,” said Artistic Director Brandon Thomsen. “The immortal tale of Scrooge reminds us that we are all connected on life’s journey and of the need to care for our fellow man, a lesson that feels especially poignant at this time in history.”

The care and safety of patrons, volunteers, and staff remains the top priority for QCT. The staff, board, and QCT’s COVID Response Committee have developed comprehensive guidelines to ensure the highest level of safety from auditions through strike. In accordance with state guidelines, all performances will be limited to an audience of 50. Specific information on what patrons can expect when they return to the theatre will be made available in the coming weeks.
