Quincy Community Theatre is able to offer and perpetuate quality theatre entertainment and education BECAUSE of the participation of our volunteers. QCT offers numerous opportunities to volunteer time and talent to our efforts, both on stage and off, during a performance, in promotion of a production, and once the show has ended.

Volunteer Areas

ACTING – on stage
COSTUMES – alterations, construction, crafting, dressing room set up, laundry, organization

STUDENT THEATRE – on stage, classroom assistants

tracking hours

Volunteers may track hours via a paper punch card for redemption of benefits when working in the Costume and Scenic Shops and for Support related opportunities such as audition table, poster distribution, and front office projects during regular business hours. You are not required to use a punch card, but we do ask that you please log your volunteer hours in the online volunteer portal regardless of whether you use a punch card for tickets or tuition.

  • 10 hrs = 1 ticket (Play, Musical or and Student Theatre Production)
  • 20 hrs = 2 tickets or 1 class tuition (Includes Basic Training and 50% off Triple Threat Boot Camp)

Punch cards expire 12 months from the date your first hour is logged and need to be used in that 12-month time.

  • 2 comp tickets prior to public sales for show you are currently volunteering for
  • Limit of 10 discounted tickets per cast or crew member
  • 1 comp ticket to sit and watch show you volunteer for if seats are available (additional volunteering duties requested)

Cove club

The Cove Club program has been developed for our top performing student theatre volunteers. The objective of Cove Club is to expose students to all areas of theatre at QCT including but not limited to: set construction, stage management, education, crew, front of house and auditions. Completion of a Cove Club Passport Tracker = 50% off Triple Threat Boot Camp!

We offer a Junior Cove Club for students ages 10-14, and Senior Cove Club for students ages 15-18. Cove Club Passport cards can be picked up at the QCT Box Office.

(Scholarships are also available for ANY student regardless of age or ability to pay.)
