Volunteer
Quincy Community Theatre is able to offer and perpetuate quality theatre entertainment and education BECAUSE of the participation of our volunteers. QCT offers numerous opportunities to volunteer time and talent to our efforts, both on stage and off, during a performance, in promotion of a production, and once the show has ended.
Volunteer Opportunities
Acting
No previous theatre experience is necessary in order to participate on stage at QCT. For more information on acting opportunities, please visit our audition page.
Front of House
Front of House volunteers play an important part in the experience our patrons have at QCT. Box Officers and Head Ushers should be 18+. Students as young as 12 may volunteer with a parent or guardian as an Usher or Scanner. Please wear smiles and clothes appropriate to the occasion. Shoes should be comfortable for walking and standing.
Box Office
Box Officers sell and print tickets and address seating issues as they arise. Prior training on QCT’s ticketing system is recommended.

Scanner
Scanners greet and welcome patrons, verify the date on each ticket, and scan the barcode, ensuring each ticket registers as valid on the screen. No previous training or experience is required.

Head Usher
Head Ushers greet and welcome patrons as they enter the theatre and direct them to the appropriate usher. Familiarity with the seating chart is recommended.

Ushers greet and welcome patrons, helping them find their seats. No previous training or experience is required.

Season Ticket Sales

In appreciation, all Front of House volunteers may stay and watch the show, if seats are available, and may be asked to assist the House Manager with additional duties.

2027 Interest Form
If you would like to get involved in 2027, fill out our interest form, and we will follow up with you as the shows get a little closer!
Benefits
Punch Card:
Volunteers working outside of rehearsal or front-of-house opportunities are eligible to receive one punch per hour volunteered. Hours can be redeemed for the following:
- 10 hrs = 1 ticket (Play, Musical or Student Theatre Production)
- 20 hrs = 2 tickets or 1 class tuition (Includes Basic Training and 50% off Triple Threat Boot Camp)
Punch cards expire 12 months from the date your first hour is logged and need to be used in that 12-month time. Volunteers must get punches on the day of the volunteer opportunity.
Actors, Crew, Volunteer Production Team Members
- Company members receive comp and discounted tickets to the production you are involved in.
Front of House (Ushers, Box Office, Will Call, Scanners, and Merch)
- Front of House volunteers are invited to stay and watch the show you if seats are available (additional volunteering duties requested)
