When a baker and his wife venture into the woods to lift a witch’s curse, they collide with Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (of beanstalk fame), and Rapunzel, each on their own quest to fulfill their deepest wish. As their stories intertwine, they must confront their deepest fears and desires, learning that every wish has a price and that sometimes the things you wish for are not what you truly need.

Leading us through the world of wishes, wolves, and what-ifs are Jeremy Kurfman as Baker, Hannah Komperda as Baker’s Wife, Gabby Hanchett as Cinderella, Maurice Silas as Jack, Madison Daggett as Little Red, Libby Campbell as Witch, and Josh Carlson as Narrator.

The rest of this extraordinary ensemble cast includes Prudence Bickhaus Martin, Jayden Dreyer, Chris Dye, Trey Ehrhart, Valerie Hernandez, Ava Jacobsen, Morgan Jennings, Quinton Metcalf, Charly Nicholson, Enitan Odunfa-Jones, and Megan Peters.

The multi-talented creative team behind INTO THE WOODS includes QCT’s Artistic Director, Ethan Nienaber as Director, Brad Culpepper as Vocal Director, Jeanette Soebbing as Choreographer, Cathy Gooding as Stage Manager, Ben Kress as Costume Designer, Lorne Kelley as Scenic Designer, Shannon Elliott as Lighting Designer, Jay Trimble as Sound Designer, Randy and Gretchen Wolfmeyer as Puppet and Prop Artisans, with Cecelia Bruening and Bailey McNamar serving as Assistant Stage Managers.

“INTO THE WOODS is a timeless American classic,” says Director Ethan Nienaber. “It’s an immense honor and privilege to be working with the incredible group of artists we’ve assembled to breathe new life into this well-known mashup of fairytales. Our production concept celebrates our amazing community of volunteers by reimagining what this show would look like if a traveling troupe of players plopped a stage down in the middle of the woods to tell this story. We look forward to leaning into the hopeful theme of ‘No One Is Alone.’

Before the curtain rises, mark your calendars for Discovery Night on Tuesday, November 25 at 6:00 p.m., where audiences will get an exclusive look behind the scenes of the production during this free, interactive event featuring discussion with the creative team and a Q&A. Plus, stick around after the Friday, December 12 performance for a special Talk Back with the cast and crew.

INTO THE WOODS will take the stage December 4-7 & 11-14. Flex season ticket holders can reserve seats beginning October 28, with general ticket sales opening November 12. Seating is reserved.

QCT is also welcoming volunteers to be a part of the excitement—help build the set, scan tickets, usher, and more. Visit 1qct.org or call the QCT Box Office at 217-222-3209 to get involved or learn more.
