April Staff Spotlight: Justin Hill
Sit down to dinner with QCT’s latest addition, Development Coordinator Justin Hill, and you’re bound to hear a few stories but many of them start in the theatre…
Justin’s passion for music and theatre started in grade school, but in college he recognized his love for conducting and found himself “at home” in the orchestra pit. He also met the love of his life, Diana, in the pit orchestra of a community theatre production of “State Fair” during that time. In his mid-20s, Justin went on to become the Founding and Resident Music Director at the Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts where he collaborated with many Broadway and film stars, as well as up and coming talent. Example: In one year, he workshopped both a new musical by the legendary George Furth (who wrote Company with Sondheim), and another musical by new-comers Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (who would later pen Dear Evan Hansen, and songs for the films La La Land and The Greatest Showman.)
Following his time in professional theatre, Justin and his wife built and operated a successful media, marketing, and consulting business which they recently sold. After taking some time off, Justin wondered “what’s next?” and somehow found his way to the new Development Coordinator role at QCT. In this position, he can once again show his love for the theater by helping to grow the organization’s fundraising strategies, including individual giving, grants, and corporate sponsorships.
