Apply by July 12 for Triple Threat Boot Camp

Application and registration deadlines are quickly approaching!

Quincy Community Theatre will accept applications from students for its 12th annual Triple Threat Boot Camp (for grades 5-college) through July 12. Basic Training (for grades 1-4) registration is open with limited spots remaining. Registration closes July 29 or when all spots or filled—whichever occurs first.

Basic Training, for students entering grades 1-4, is under the instruction of guest teaching artist Mindy Holthaus. Students will rotate between classes in singing, acting, and dancing in preparation for musical theatre performances. Basic Training students will perform in select scenes in the Triple Threat Boot Camp Showcase. Tuition is $120, due at the time of registration, and includes a camp t-shirt and two tickets to the showcase.

Triple Threat Boot Camp, intended for the serious performer entering grades 5-college, is an intense week-long workshop instructing students in the three musical theatre disciplines: singing, acting, and dancing.

Students are divided into age-appropriate levels, working in the mornings with professionals to become top-notch performers. In the afternoons, students implement the skills learned during the day in a rehearsal for a Broadway-style musical revue at the end of the week.

Triple Threat Boot Camp is directed by Acting Instructor Brandon Thomsen; with Dance Instructor Cheryl Kaiser; and Music Instructor Elizabeth Mannhardt.

Students enrolling in the Triple Threat Boot Camp must submit a hand-written letter explaining why they would enjoy being a part of the camp by July 12. Letters should be as specific as possible, including examples of why the student enjoys performing and past experiences with acting, singing, or dance. A class registration form must be accompanied by this letter.

Submission of the Triple Threat Boot Camp registration form and letter does not automatically guarantee a place for the student in the camp. Families will be contacted by July 19 as to whether or not their child has been accepted. Upon the student’s acceptance, payment is due no later than July 26. Tuition is $175 and includes a t-shirt and two tickets to the showcase.

Both camps run daily August 5-9 with Basic Training meeting from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Triple Threat Boot Camp meeting from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A daytime rehearsal and showcase on August 10 at 7:30 p.m. is scheduled for both camps.

Scholarships and donated volunteer credits are available for all ages, camps, and classes to cover a portion or all of the tuition costs.
