STUART LITTLE brings big excitement with sold out shows!

The big cast of Stuart Little

Over 40 students in grades 3-12 auditioned in April to be a part of QCT’s biggest little adventure of the summer—Stuart Little. The excitement didn’t end with auditions, as eager fans caused all performances to sell out within 24 hours of going on sale.

The story follows Stuart, the second son of an ordinary New York couple. He just happens to be…a mouse! Audiences will share exciting adventures from Stuart’s apartment to Central Park and beyond. Along the way, they’ll meet Snowbell, a mischievous cat, Margalo, a kind-hearted bird, and many more delightful characters. Told by a student ensemble playing characters big and small, audiences young and old will adore this enduring classic based on the book by E.B. White.

Performed in the lab theatre, a thrust stage will be used with seating on three sides to offer an up-close experience between the performers and the audience. Only 80 seats were available for each performance which contributed to tickets selling out so quickly.

“I am excited for audiences to enjoy our fresh twist on this beloved classic tale of adventure, friendship, and advice. As Stuart says, ‘Remember folks…ice cream is important and never forget your summertimes,'” shared Director Alison Shafer.

The cast of 12 local students, including nine new to the QCT stage, hails from Quincy, Illinois, Ewing, Missouri, and Hannibal, Missouri. The cast features Quinton Miller as Stuart Little; Simon Bruening as Mr. Little; Abbi Ensinger as Mrs. Little; Kian Wilford as Stuart’s older brother, George; Elise Lindgren as Snowbell; and Evie Tallcott as Margalo; completing the cast are an ensemble of delightful characters played by Cecilia Bruening, Grace Hiles, Sloane Kelley, Alexa Mosley, Nathan Oliver, and Conall Wolfmeyer.

Stuart Little is under the direction of Alison Shafer, with assistant direction and stage management by Drew Quintero, scenic and lighting design by Lorne Kelley, and costume design by Bonnie Furniss.

Audiences can get a little peek of this charming tale with a “tail” during Discovery Night on Monday, June 3 at 6:00 PM. This one hour, backstage, behind-the-scenes look at the making of this clever classic is free and open to the public.

Tickets sold out for all performances June 13-16; shows run Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM.

The Box Office now has a waiting list for each performance. If seats become available, or if performances are added, patrons will be notified. Please contact the Box Office to be added to a waiting list. Email qct@1qct.org or call 217.222.3209. Simply provide the desired date(s) and the number of tickets. Tickets are $10 each; all seats are general admission.

The final show on Sunday, June 16 will be a relaxed performance. A relaxed performance is slightly modified for adults and children who are on the autism spectrum or who might benefit from a more relaxed environment, with the house lights remaining on and sound effects and music kept at a lower level.
