A murder mystery is about to go spectacularly off the rails, September 17–20 and 24–27.

In THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG, the enthusiastic but disaster-prone Cornley Drama Society is determined to present The Murder at Haversham Manor. Unfortunately, nearly everything that can go wrong does. Actors miss cues, props disappear, scenery collapses, technical effects misfire, and the cast becomes increasingly desperate to reach the final curtain.

Packed with physical comedy, perfectly timed mishaps, and one escalating catastrophe after another, THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG invites audiences to watch a production fall apart in the most hilarious way possible.

The actors bringing the carefully choreographed chaos to the stage, include Adrienne Fisk as Chris, Brodie Mann as Dennis, Cassie Schoene as Sandra, Charly Nicholson as Stage Crew/Annie Understudy, Gracie Jones as Stage Crew/Sandra Understudy, Jeremy Kurfman as Max, Mason Ellison as Stage Crew/Dennis Understudy, Matthew Zehnle as Trevor, Nicolas Moore as Robert, Prudence Bickhaus Martin as Annie, and Sjon Jones as Jonathan.

The production team working behind the scenes to keep everything from falling apart includes Ethan Nienaber as Director, Gretchen Wolfmeyer as Production Stage Manager, Bailey McNamar and Jeannette Soebbing as Assistant Stage Managers, Lorne Kelley as Scenic Designer, Wesley Cone as Lighting Designer, Jayden Dreyer as Costume Designer, and Steve Looten as Stunt Coordinator/Fight Choreographer.

“We are so excited to welcome audiences back into our space with the hilarious THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG this September,” says Director Ethan Nienaber. “This murder-mystery, whodunit-style of British comedy is a rare treat for both our volunteers on and off stage as well as our patrons. We look forward to creating genuine theater magic that will leave you asking, “How did they do that?!” and have you on the edge of your seat while this wonderful cast and crew keep your cheeks sore from laughing at one of the best comedies written for the stage in the last decade!”

Written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields, THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG has entertained audiences around the world with its combination of physical comedy, theatrical ingenuity, and relentless determination to continue the performance no matter what happens. The result is a fast-paced comedy in which every mistake is intentional, and every new disaster raises the stakes.

THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG will be presented September 17–20 and 24–27 at Quincy Community Theatre. Tickets go on sale August 11. Tickets and additional information are available at 1QCT.org or through the QCT Box Office at 217-222-3209.
