QCT’s mission is to offer and perpetuate quality theatre entertainment and education in the performing arts. The education program, open to both children and adults, strives to give its students skills not only as performers, but as creative thinkers, collaborators, and culturally-aware individuals.
QCT’s student theatre program is intended to bring theatre to students in a variety of ways. We accomplish this mission through three student theatre productions each year; classes taught at the theatre; full tours of our facility; and with our outreach program, which includes theatre workshops conducted in schools and a touring theatre production. It is QCT’s goal to keep the integrity of its programs intact, while maintaining affordable tuition and fees.
Adults can explore and deepen their knowledge of the theatre by auditioning for a production, volunteering to work backstage, or enrolling in one of our adult classes which cover varied topics and training. All levels of experience are welcome.
QCT is proud of its education program and believes in the lasting impact it can make on a student and its community; therefore, a full-time, professional staff is employed to ensure the quality of the work is at its highest. Our theatre is looked upon as a safe haven. Students of all ages can enroll in our programs, knowing that they will be treated with respect and will exit our doors as confident, disciplined, respectful individuals.
QCT offers classes for students and adults throughout the year. There are three semesters of classes (spring, summer, and fall). Participants must pre-register. Most classes are held in the Rehearsal Hall/Lab Theatre. Students should enter through the “Stage Door” on Kentucky Street.
See what happens “behind the scenes.” Take a full tour of the beautiful QCT facility. View the stage and backstage – dressing rooms, costume shop, prop room, scene shop and more! By taking a tour, guest will learn that more is needed to put on a show that just actors. Theatre is a collaborative art form.
