Auditions now open for THE BOXCAR CHILDREN
Auditions for Quincy Community Theatre’s next main stage play, The Boxcar Children, will be held Saturday, August 24 for students in grades 3-12 and adults age 18 and older.
Based on the beloved book series by Gertrude Chandler Warner, The Boxcar Children follows the Alden children who have just been orphaned. Knowing they will go to different foster homes, they escape to the woods and make their home in an abandoned boxcar. But someone is desperate to find them. The Boxcar Children is a powerful story teaching us that home can be anywhere as long as you have your family by your side.
Diverse roles for this large cast include the Alden siblings, a caring social worker, a friendly local doctor, an ensemble of townsfolk, and more.
All experience levels, ethnicities, and races are encouraged to audition. All auditioning actors will read selections from the script, which is available on the QCT website. To access the script, please contact QCT for the password.
Rehearsals will easily work with most schedules as performers may not be called for every rehearsal or for the full length of rehearsal. A detailed schedule will be determined based on actor availability.

Performances are October 24-27. There are also daytime school matinees on October 22. All actors must be available for all performances.
