It’s All in the Family

IMG_6781At the QCT membership meeting Brandon Thomsen called the community theatre a family. Just like our own families, it takes all of us to keep our family going. The community theatre family is made up of many different jobs and relationships including committee members, ushers, scanners, and lights and sound people, along with actors, costumers and many more. It takes all of us working together to produce a final product we are proud of.

Many times these relationships that we build and experiences that we have can change our lives, just like in MAMA WON’T FLY. Savannah and Mama have a typical mother/daughter relationship, one that is full of eye rolling and complaining. They embark on a road trip across the country and encounter many hilarious experiences that end up changing their relationship. Will they change for the better, or at the end of their trip will their relationship be worse?

It’s a known fact that you can’t choose your family. Most of our families come with good relatives, bad relatives, embarrassing relatives, and even some amazing relatives. Even though they may embarrass us, meddle in our lives, or make mistakes, we still love them because they are our family.

Even though I didn’t get to choose my MAMA WON’T FLY family, I can’t wait to go on this road trip with them!

If you aren’t already part of the wonderful family that is Quincy Community Theatre, I urge you to call the box office and get involved; it may change your life!
